One of the famous teachings of Buddhism is reincarnation. Although a lot of Christians would negate the possibility of reincarnation as contrary to the teachings of the Christian Bible that the soul of a person could only be resurrected at the end of the world when God would come to judge the living and the dead, there are many people, Buddhist and non-Buddhist who believe in reincarnation. There have been many arguments on the topic of reincarnation and the Buddhist belief that a person is given many chances to redeem him/herself again and again until such time when he or she reached perfection. Christians mostly oppose the belief of reincarnation on the ground that it would serve as an excuse for person not to live his or her life well since he or she will still have the next life to make things better.
What is reincarnation? According to the teachings of Buddhism, a person may undergo several cycles of birth, living, death and rebirth before he or she can achieve perfection and attain the stage of enlightenment. Where a person did not live a good life before he or she died, he or she will be reincarnated according to Buddhist belief to repay whatever wrongs he or she may have commit in his or her previous life. In a sense, reincarnation can be viewed as some kind of chance to atone ones sins in the previous life. It is second chance for a person to live his or her life again is a better way.
