The Noble Eightfold Path is the core of Buddhist practice. Set forth by Siddhartha Gautama, the Path is a practical guide to living and furthering each Buddhist's quest for Enlightenment. The eight aspects of the Path are not to be seen as sequential steps. Rather, they are interdependent and dynamic goals to quest for every day.

Right View葉his means to see things as they truly are and to recognize the Four Noble Truths. Only by seeing truly, without false observations, can wisdom be attained
Right Intention葉o commit to ethical and mental self-improvement. Not only must we do the right thing, we must do it for the right reasons.

Right Speech葉o abstain from false and hurtful speech, slander, deceit, and idle chatter.
Right Action葉he physical aspect of the Path. To intend to do good is not enough; one must follow through with dedication.

Right Livelihood葉o earn one's living in a righteous way, legally and peacefully. Prohibited livelihoods are generally defined as those involving weapons, trade in living beings, working in meat packing/slaughtering, and selling intoxicants or poison.
Right Effort葉he key to every aspect of the Path and life. Effort must be made and maintained to succeed.

Right Mindfulness葉o be mindful, one is fully engaged in every moment, seeing and thinking clearly, without assumption or prejudice. Mindfulness is a gift, allowing the practitioner to enjoy each moment fully.
Right Concentration葉he practice of meditation to sharpen, discipline, and strengthen the mind.
